Senior IT System Engineer

What you will do

• Management, maintenance and monitoring of the company IT infrastructure.
• Installation and configuration of our products at customer sites.
• Administration of virtualized environments with Proxmox and Ceph.
• Management of Docker containers.
• Administration of Linux systems (Debian and AlmaLinux) and, to a lesser extent, Windows.
• Automation of recurring tasks through scripting.

What we look for

• Consolidated experience administering Linux systems, particularly Debian and AlmaLinux.
• Full confidence with the terminal and with managing servers over SSH.
• Solid scripting skills (Bash and/or Python and/or Node.js) for automation.
• Experience with Proxmox virtualization and Ceph distributed storage.
• Familiarity with Docker.
• Basic networking knowledge: theory and hands-on configuration (VLAN, LACP, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of Windows environments.
• Availability for on-site work at customer premises (generally around Rome, when remote intervention is not possible).
• Good command of English. Some members of our team speak English only.

Nice to have

• Experience managing high-availability infrastructure.
• Advanced networking experience (HPE/Cisco/Dell switch configuration, Fortinet and pfSense firewalls).
• Advanced Linux knowledge.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server.
• Experience with tools such as Ansible.

What we offer

• Full-time contract (Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week), fixed term (12 months, with possible conversion to permanent).
• Gross annual salary between 40,000 and 60,000 euros, under the Italian CCNL Metalmeccanici PMI Confapi collective agreement.
• The main workplace is Piazza Fernando De Lucia 37, 00139 Rome (RM). Customer interventions are mostly remote (with a few exceptions) and, in any case, generally around Rome.
• Remote working is guaranteed through an Italian «lavoro agile» agreement, defining the company's needs balanced against the worker's personal ones.
• The salary is complemented by €10/day meal vouchers and fringe benefits worth about €1,000/year.
